        Built to the standards of a commercial building yet interior designed for optimal comfort and warmth.  The home was designed for superior functionality, safety, energy efficiency and  is outfitted with the finest technological conveniences.

         

        CONSTRUCTION

        • Built to the standards of a commercial building, dozens of steel I-beams are bolted and welded together to form a steel framework over which the home was built; insures protection from wind (150-200 mph), and extremely solid construction, built to last
        • The steel frames are anchored in overbuilt concrete supports for foundation stability
        • Deluxe fire retardant and fire proof concrete roofing tiles on all surfaces
        • All utilities leaving the home are grouped and completely screened by a wall and a door; includes automatic meter reading equipment, irrigation valves, solar electric reverse meters, and extra roofing tile for any roof repairs
        • Every door, window, and utility breaches in the envelope of the home have been carefully insulated and securely sealed from exterior elements, including extreme temperatures
        • Specifically oriented and constructed to maximize solar collection, the house sells electricity back to the City of Colorado Springs Utilities in excess; a reverse electric meter is installed to monitor these transactions and an annual solar efficiency report is issued by the vendor
        • 36 geothermal holes in were bored approximately 100 feet into the granite below the home for heat exchange, producing a constant heated/cooled water flow for summer air conditioning and winter hot water boost heating; three geothermal cells are located in two utility rooms
        • Dozens of repair and construction materials were saved from original construction to provide patching, carpets, wood pieces, light fixtures, fabrics, wall papers, etc.
        • Built to never run out of hot water, even during periods of high usage
